BSNL to be setup Own and operate WiFi Hotspots at Public Places in AP/Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Kerala and Chennai TD

After trend shifted from Internet Cafe centers to Smarphone mobile phones the usage of internet gradually increased to get access to WahtsApp, Facebook and Twitter to share and connect with friends. But, to connect with these social media websites or apps you need data usage vouchers or special data plans.

BSNL already introduced affordable Data Usage Special Tariff Vouchers (Data STVs) for Prepaid plans customers comes with two days to one month validity packs. In addition to this BSNL planned to set up and run own WiFi Hotspots across the country.

State run telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) planning to setup its own and operate WiFi HotSpots in Public places across Andhrapradesh, Telanagana, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Kerala and Chennai Telephone District (BSNL South Zone Circles) in association with M/s QuadGen Wireless Solution private limited on revenue sharing basis.

BSNL already started its WiFi HostSpots in few Telecom Circle Public places and running successfully. A good response receiving from customers and BSNL Competent authority has decided to extend the same to other telecom circles. BSNL requested remaining circles to provide necessary public Hotspots for extending bandwidth to the hotspot locatrion from nearest BSNL POP in enabling WiFi services.
