BSNL cautions Prepaid mobile customers beware of Unknown numbers to their mobiles.
State owned Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) cautions all GSM mobile customers (Prepaid and Postpaid) about ‘Missed Call Fraud’ from unknown number. Many complaints receiving from customers about pesky calls as unknown number starting with ‘+91’ (prefix).
BSNL has come to notice that the number prefix with +91, +263, +960 which is unknown number (International Number) gives a missed call to callback.
BSNL advices to all its Prepaid and Postpaid customers,
Everyone knows that ‘Prevention is better than Cure’ in the same way BSNL mobile customers can to avoid such calls receiving can deactivate ISD services by sending SMS to USSD services as ‘DEACT(space)ISD to 123.
Mobile customers if any such calls receiving should assume that it is a Fraud Call just leave it and do not attempt to call back to such unknown numbers with anxiety. If you attempted then you’ll be charged International call charges of Rs.45 to Rs.50 per minute for those Fraud calls starting with +263, +960.
Recently Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued guidelines to all Telecom operators to make sure NO ISD facility is activated to Prepaid customers without prior request from customer. To prevent such Fraud ‘One Ring Missed Call’ BSNL advised all customers to be alert and make sure to deactivate ISD facility if it is not required.
