BSNL Launched Free WiFi services in Puri Jagannath (Odisha Telecom)

Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad launches BSNL Free WiFi services in Puri town of Odisha Telecom Circle.

State owned Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) initially launched Free WiFi services between the Jagannath temple and Mausi Maa temple during the ongoing Nabakalebar festival and Bahuda Yatra and upcoming ‘Jagannath Rath Yatra’.

Recently Minister Ravi shankar prasad launched Free WiFi services at Tourist places at 'Taj Mahal' and announced to expand to install more WiFi Hotspots in other areas across the country.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi launched ‘Digital India’ project on 1st July, through National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN) around 2.5 lakh gram panchayats would be connected with high-speed Broadband connectivity.

BSNL Celebrates 'Digital India Week' in all telecom Circles across the country from 1st July, 2015

The Central government is aimed to increate internet users to 50 crores in the next two years and this would help the country people to reap benefits through technology. At present India had around 98 crore mobile connections and 30 crore internet users, said Minister.

On occasion of Nabakalebar festival a special postal stamp would be released, said Ravi shankar.
