Telecom department has introduced new verification process for new mobile connections. Now onwards Telecom operators have to follow new procedure for verification of new mobile connections.
The Competent authority of Telecom Department has issued instructions/orders to all Telecom services providers to follow the alternative process i.e digitalization processor to replace the existing manual method of verification for new mobile connection.
Telecom department suggest all Telecom Operators having service authorization licenses, including CMTS, UAS, and UL (AS). The existing process to be replaced with entering various fields in customer application form (CAF) should be now made electronically instead of manual writing. As well, the photography of Customer should be taken at Point of Sale (PoS) itself and the same should be dropped in the CAF (Electronic CAF) instead of pasting the photograph in the manual application form.
In addition, the supporting documents of customer i.e identity proof and Address proof to be scanned embedded in the Electronic CAF.
To avoid misuse of saving document Address proof and Identity proof at the time of scanning and Photograph should not be stored at Point of Sale (PoS), said Telecom Department in their letter.
