BSNL issued a circular to all its units on demonetised currency notes Rs.1000/- and Rs.500/- for payment of Mobile/Landline/Broadband bills and Prepaid recharge/Topups.
State owned Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) issued instructions to all its telecom district authorities for acceptance of payments towards prepaid mobile topup with demonetised currency notes.
As per latest information, BSNL is accepted mobile/landline/broadband bill payments with demonetised currency notes till 24-11-2016. Thereafter released a circular for accepting of Old denomination of Rs.500/- currency note for payment of Prepaid plans mobile recharge/balance.

Following Terms and conditions for accepting old currency note Rs.500/-
- Not to accept Topup with old withdrawn note of Rs.500/- for less than Rs.500 per transaction per day.
- Topup of Rs.500/- is done either for a single mobile number or set of mobile numbers.
- Limit of Rs.500/- per mobile/per day with old with drawn note of Rs.500/-.
- No returning of small denomination notes for Topup for less than Rs.500/- rupees, if customer given old withdrawn note of Rs.500/-.
- Otherwise, it will become an exchange center like banks, which now stands withdrawn even by the banks as per latest government orders.
- If customer wants Topup/Balance of say Rs.700/- or Rs.1200/- per mobile, accept only one old withdrawn note of Rs.500/- and remaining of Rs.200/- or Rs.700/- in small denominations i.e Rs.100/-, Rs.50/-, Rs.20/- and Rs.10/- only.
- Rs.1000/- high old denomination currency note not be accepted.
