What is the process for upgrading a 2G/3G sim to a 4G sim?
To upgrade a BSNL 3G SIM card to a 4G SIM card, follow these steps:
Purchase a BSNL 4G SIM card: Visit the nearest BSNL Customer Service Centre or a BSNL channel partner/franchisee store to buy a BSNL 4G SIM card. The cost of the SIM card is generally around ₹20.
Check 4G VoLTE services in your area: Before upgrading the SIM card, ensure that 4G VoLTE services are provided in your area by BSNL.
Activate the BSNL 4G SIM card: Once you have the new 4G SIM card, follow the steps to activate it:
- Open the messaging app on your phone and send an SMS through your existing BSNL SIM card.
- Type the message in this format: RE4G (last 6 digits of the new SIM Card Number)(Circle Code) (Circle code for different regions can be found online).
- Send the SMS to 53734.
- You'll receive an acknowledgment SMS to confirm the SIM swap. Reply with RE4G YES
- Wait for the confirmation message, then wait for the network signal to disappear automatically. Once disconnected, replace the old SIM with the new one.
