Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi starts the ‘Digital India Week’ on 1st July, 2015 aimed for promoting e-governance with well-known industrialist talented 4.5 lakh crore rupees in investments and 18 lakh jobs in the sector across the country.
Prime Minister Modi proved from starting concentrated to develop country in all aspects by digitization of Indian e-governance system across the country. Digital India programme comes into existence after launching e-governance in India.
Under Digitalization of India State owned Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) participating in Digitalization Week India from 1st July, 2015 to 7th July, 2015 by displaying banners on each telecom offices as ‘DIGITAL INDIA WEEK’ (image as shown). BSNL is to play important role in implementing this motivated project in all telecom circles.
BSNL dream project National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN) will be connecting around 2,50,000 Gram panchayats to provide schemes like Digital Locker, e-education and e-health etc., everyone.
To remove digital gap in the society between poor and rich would help to strengthen in social, educational and economical category. BSNL is actively participating in ‘Digital India Week’ in all Telecom Circles and passed instructions all the employees to celebrate ‘Digital India Week’ by displaying banners and introduce more schemes to customers in their circle.
In a statement CMD of BSNL Anupam Srivastava ‘We are organizing trips of schoolchildren to telephone exchanges and giving them presentations on how telecom can transform our lives digitally. BSNL will also organize ‘melas’ to circulate information about various schemes introduced recently Free National Roaming, Unlimited Free Calling in Night hours, said.
Special camps facilitates to educate everyone during Digital India week where educating common man to recharge or pay bills (Postpaid, Landline etc) and Internet banking transactions through online services from their mobile, said Srivastava.
We are also coming up with Mobile Wallet, m-Governance, machine-to-machine technology like smart meters and Internet data centers. BSNL also offers high-speed bandwidth upto 100Mbps in broadband services (Fiber to the Home), said.
BSNL already launched Free WiFi Hotspots at TajMahal , Secuderabad Railway Station (Hyderabad) and other State areas of Andhrapradesh/Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Chennai, Hyderabad. The Prime Minister inaugurated more than 50 Free WiFi Hotspots in Nasik and equal number of NGN (Next Generation Network) in Digital India launching. BSNL under plans Puri Jagannath Temple is one of the projects to setup WiFi Hotspot to increase number of connections and available to everyone in India.
