BSNL ties up with Tata Sky to offer Video on Demand (VoD) for BSNL Broadband customer

BSNL signed an agreement with DTH Operator Tata Sky to provide Video on Demand to Broadband customers across the country.

State run Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has signed on MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with leading DTH operator Tata Sky to offer Video on Demand (VoD) service to BSNL Broadband users.


BSNL offers First month Free Broadband Rental while Tata Sky offer its VoD service at free of cost for the first month to download data worth upto Rs.500.


In a statement on this occasion BSNL CMS Anupam Srivastava said, ‘We will implement this MoU to cover the entire country within next six months. VoD has been gaining prominence and this agreement will help both the partners tap into the market better’. 


On pilot project basis both Tata Sky and BSNL will launch this services in one or two states and extended to the other parts of the country after receiving feedback and grievances (Help desk) from the Broadband customers.

Through this agreement, BSNL Broadband customer can enjoy Video on Demand (VoD) services through Tata Sky a leading DTH operator in India.


Tata Sky is already offering content based value added services to wireless subscribers of BSNL in all the four zones via WAP portal BSNL Live across the country.
