Public sector firm Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has entered into new business. They are renting their own quarters in the name of New Business.
The company has residential complexes in different parts of Hyderabad. One-third of these are currently vacant. With months of vacant quarters already losing revenue. Buildings are getting old. Against this backdrop, it has been decided to rent out the company's quarters to the employees of the central, state and public sector undertakings.
The company already earns about Rs.55 lakh per month in the form of rent. The company has residential properties in Hyderabad, Banjara Hills, Khairatabad, Saroornagar, Vanasthalipuram, Secunderabad and Sainikpuri.
Out of vacant 1,392 residential quarters 400 were vacant across Hyderabad. Total from 600 sq.ft. to 2000 sq.ft. there were five tiers of residential complexes. There are rentals ranging from Rs 6,000 to Rs 25,000 per month depending on the area. Few of them already rented in Banjarahills, Sainikpuri areas and there are still many vacancies, said BSNL Official.
Currently, there are 3,700 employees in Hyderabad area. Telangana Circle has a total of 8,081 employees and 5,096 persons who are eligible for voluntary retirement. Of these, 4,880 were VRS takers.
Another three and four floors are expected to be vacant due to the large-scale voluntary retirement by the end of this month. Officials say that the remaining employees will be moved to three floors of the same building or move to Telephone Bhavan in Lakdikapul and Dorasanchar Bhavan in Nampally.
They are planning to rent the entire building if the remaining employees move here. The office space is more than a million square feet. The rent here is Rs.84 per sq ft.
1,600 sq ft to 35 thousand sq.ft. Office space available at Ameerpet, Gachbowli, Madhpur, Saroornagar, Lingampally, Charminar, Chandryangutta, Nacharam, Gowliguda, Tirumulgiry.
There is a convenient place for Godown in Charlapalli. Tenders have been called from those who are already interested in these. It will be rented or leased to Central, State Government and Public Sector Enterprises and corporations with turnover of Rs 25 crore.
Telecom companies are not entertained and not allowed to participate in bidding. Across Telangana state 346 exchange building spaces are ready for renting.
